Ok…for starters brides, PLEASE don’t procrastinate this badly when it comes to your wedding gown! Getting the perfect dress is a process that takes time…It’s a process that is meant for you to enjoy and savor, not to panic in and dread. However, with that said, there are situations in life (deployment, illness, pregnancy…COVID) that spring up and you may suddenly find yourself without a wedding dress and a ceremony right around the corner. Though it may not be the wedding of your dreams, and the circumstances surrounding the change of plans may be stressful, these types of ceremonies are still worthy of a celebration. After all, it is still your Wedding Day, a promise of commitment between two best friends for a lifetime!
Here at New Beginnings Bridal Studio in Puyallup, you are in excellent hands! Here’s a few hints to get your hands on an incredible gown for your “I Do’s”:
-
When you have at least two months before you get married, there is still hope for ordering in a gown. Many of our designers set aside a few popular styles in their collections to be on a list reserved for quick shipping. They stock their warehouses with many sizes and colors of these select gowns, so the chances that your choice is readily available are very good.
-
If you have two months or less, your best option is to buy a gown sample. This means that the dress you try on in our bridal salon is the one that you’ll purchase and take home with you that day. Depending on the age of the wedding dress, chances are we can offer you a discount for this purchase since these gowns have been previously handled. We keep our gowns in pristine condition, and if there happens to be a bit of makeup on the inside or a missing bead in the applique, the repair so menial that it wouldn’t add a bit to your alteration costs.
-
Alterations must be done on 99% of all gowns, special ordered or not. Seamstresses are most often able to squeeze in brides with special circumstances and are more than willing to work with you if they have any sort of credibility at all. If a seamstress isn’t flexible…she is not for you. Our knowledgeable stylists can direct you to local seamstresses that are professionally staffed and easily accommodating.
Skilled professionals will be an awesome resource to help you navigate quickly through the wedding planning journey. In fact, this would be one of those times when an experienced wedding planner is not only worth her weight in gold, but a priceless detail you can’t afford to ignore. We’re here for you, so let us know if you’re in a tight spot and need some direction. You’ve got this!
